A Brief Retrospective on 2020 from Corsalus Financial

January 01, 2021

It is amazing, isn’t it, to think of life at the end of 2019 as we were all looking forward to the possibilities of the new decade. We could have never imagined what was ahead for us, and here we are, a year later, looking through the rear-view mirror of 2020. We find so many things to be grateful for, despite, or maybe as a result of, the challenges we faced.

Here are some highlights from our year:

  • In January, Jason and his wife, Kristin, welcomed their son, Theodore, into their family life with their daughter, Teagan. It was a wonderful beginning to the year!
  • The March office move was delayed due to the pandemic, but we overcame the hurdles and moved in to our new space in June. We are hopeful to share our new office with you in 2021.
  • We still managed to host two client events, the Advocate Dinner and the morning at the Morton Arboretum. We miss hosting more events as they give us an opportunity to connect on a more personal basis, and will look forward to resuming them when it becomes safe to do so.

We can’t thank you enough, for your flexibility to the new working conditions we have had to implement, shifting our meetings to phone or Zoom format. We so appreciate your willingness to work with us through this challenging transition. Your adaptability has been admirable, allowing us both to not only survive, but thrive in these demanding conditions life has presented.

2021 will begin with continued phone and Zoom meetings and the hope that we may be able to resume more live meetings in the second half of 2021. In the meantime, with precautions, we will continue to accommodate limited in-office meetings on Fridays only by request.

The biggest change on the 2021 horizon is the Waddell & Reed acquisition which is expected to take place mid-2021. You can read the full press release here.  Just as things change, however, some things remain the same. Your Corsalus Financial team is unchanged, we will be located at the same office and our dedication to you continues as strong as ever. We are looking forward to this new chapter as our opportunity to further improve the quality, value and extent of our service and commitment to you. We will keep you informed every step of the way as we transition together.

Through all of its turmoil, 2020 has given us a heightened appreciation for all we have and enjoy. We are grateful that we and our families have remained healthy, but we know that not everyone has been so fortunate. We send our thoughts and support to everyone who is struggling from all that this year has required and we set our sights on better days ahead.

As always, we are thankful for your business and the trust you place in us. Wishing you health, peace and prosperity in the coming year.
