Jerry and Mary Klingenberger: Travel Enthusiasts
Jerry and Mary Klingenberger have always valued connection, curiosity, and making the most of life’s opportunities. Now in their next chapter, they’ve turned those passions into something truly meaningful.

Jerry grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Mary in Chicago’s South Shore and Beverly neighborhoods. They first met as students at Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College, forming a friendship that would later grow into something more. After graduation, they pursued separate paths before reconnecting and marrying in 1987.
They built a life together in Hinsdale, Illinois, where they raised twin boys while growing successful careers in finance and banking. Like many busy professionals, their focus stayed on family and work, leaving little time for travel. At the time, they never imagined travel would one day play such a central role in their lives.
Jerry’s appreciation for travel began with his mother, Margaret, whose early exposure to international cultures sparked a lifelong interest in the world beyond home. That influence stayed with him and would later shape this new chapter.
Today, Jerry and Mary have embraced retirement as a time to explore, connect, and create unforgettable experiences not only for themselves but for others. As leaders of Covington Travel Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN, they help clients experience the world through thoughtfully planned, high-end travel.
They specialize in custom trips, group travel, and refined bus tours, combining personal insight with access to the Virtuoso network, a global leader in luxury travel. This allows them to offer exclusive experiences, trusted local connections, and attention to detail that brings each journey to life.
Their business continues to grow through long-standing relationships, referrals, and a shared love of travel. More importantly, it keeps them engaged, energized, and connected to a community of like-minded travelers.
Jerry and Mary continue to plan their own adventures, with recent trips to Paris, Florence, and Scotland, and plans to visit the South of France in 2026. For them, travel is not just about destinations. It is about staying curious, building relationships, and making the most of every season of life.

With the Covington Travel Team by their side, they continue to inspire others to embrace new experiences and see the world in a more meaningful way.
New adventures are always ahead!
